Councils. The new Board will be presented to the Red Lodge membership at our December Wisdom Council and
Annual Meeting, GATHERING IN THE NORTH, in Port Angeles, December 6/7. At that meeting, new members of
Councils will formally step up and be welcomed. Please explore the information available in links on our website,
and consider joining WWRL Board and Councils. It is time to renew leadership in Red Lodge!
| DEAR RED LODGE SISTERS: I accepted the Board’s request to be Edge of the Nest Woman for the Fall nominating process because I feel indebted to Woman’s Way Red Lodge for so many reasons. This wonderful organization is my answer in a world of questions! In Red Lodge, I have had countless refreshing experiences of sharing in the creation of healthy, joyful and positive activities in a world that is struggling mightily under the misguided leadership of the old paradigm of patriarchy. I am sure you can agree with me that this struggle is growing; the time for change is here. There are many women and men and organizations in the world inventing co-creative, earth-based, spirit filled programs like ours. We are all important. Woman’s Way Red Lodge is important for each of her member’s lives, for our children’s and family’s lives, and our relatively small activities are making ripple effects in the world. The ripples from our dreams are linking with other groups, making a great societal shift inevitable. You may not be entirely convinced of Red Lodge’s ability to affect this shift because we are relatively new and we are still a small group. We haven’t reached national awareness. That doesn’t matter. The time is right for organizations like ours. We are the future, and there is no stopping our process. For these reasons, I encourage you to consider stepping up to the edge of the nest and peeking over the edge with me to consider a leadership or council position in our beautiful lodge. I’ll tell you something. There really is little safety here at the nest’s precarious edge. Anything could happen. A predatory bird or other animal could pick you off easily. The real safety comes with leaving the nest, feeling the wind under your wings, knowing the power of your wing stroke, flying free, with your lodge sisters flying by your side. ELIGIBILITY: Women who are current Lodge Sisters and have some leadership experience are eligible to serve on the Red
Lodge Board. Leadership participation as a member of a Board Council is open to all Red Lodge members.
